Davido under fire for offensive music video

The Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, on Saturday spark up a serious backlash on social media after posting a video on Twitter which some of his followers considered disrespectful to Islam.

Davido is being faced with serious backlash for His new video which he featured a scene that has to do with Islam. The video, which many Muslim commentators described as offensive, showed a group of men dressed for, and ostensibly in, a Muslim prayer session suddenly turned to dancing and singing.

The reactions that proceeded were scathing, as some Dogma deemed it an offence to the Islam religion from the Music Artist.

Bashir Ahmad @BashirAhmaad, a former aide to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, said: There are many reasons why every Muslim finds this content absolutely disrespectful, painful and offensive @davido. “I assume you all know that we Muslims don’t mix our religion with jokes in any way, especially Salah (prayer), which is sacred and the second of the five pillars of Islam.

“In Salah, Muslims remember our Lord, Allah, express our love and respect for Him and invoke and strive to express our gratitude towards Him. The notion is that the Salah activity brings the individual face-to-face with God.

“That is what we believe, and that is our faith. Please respect it. No Muslim will find it as an honor or acceptable. Watch video

@Abdul_a_Bello wrote: This is absolutely offensive to the Muslim Ummah. You all know Muslim doesn’t mix jokes and ridicule into religion but you keep finding a way to deride Islamic religious practice. You have millions of contents to make up for your video why most you bring Islam into it. This music video is all shades of WRONG!!!

@the_scholar1: The height of this ignorance and disrespect, this is unacceptable to the Muslim community. Please take it down and have some respect for the Muslim

The singer has not yet responded to the accusations.

The Oba of Benin Kingdom visit the Church for the first time

By Okorie Victor……

Oba of Benin Kingdom, Oba Ewuare II joins Rev. Dr. Felix Omobude at New covenant Gospel Church for annual thanksgiving service.

In his speech he did acknowledged the elders of the church, the distinguished guest and all the chiefs that accompanied him. It was really mind blowing as the congregation applauded while he made his speech, he said after he received the invitation the Lord almighty spoke to him that he must be in attendance ……..

He said this is the very first time he would be in the Pentecostal church all his life and that he is grateful to God almighty and made some prayers for the people in attendance. Thanking Rev. Omobude and the other churches that always come to pray at the palace and also cheered up the man of God with a sense of humor.

The Oba acknowledge that the last time he stood before a large congregation was when he was an ambassador in Italy in a catholic archdiocese to speak to the then trending issues of human trafficking and illegal migration of the people of Benin in particular to Italy and by extension Europe for prostitution, he quoted the Holy bible from the book of Genesis peculiar to Moses and Pharaoh……..

He condemned the act and urged the church to help rehabilitate those who are ready to stop this immoral act without any iota of stigmatization.

He also spoke on how his reign has helped to make the land of Benin accommodative to tourist and everyone by putting an end to CDA which was supposed to stand for ” community development association” but was operating as “community destructive association”………………. watch for more insight
